In WordPress the plugin is called Datoden Video Fix – in the DT-addons menu it is listed as DT-video-fix.
Find videos that do not play – Pro converts them to H.264 MP4 with one click, in the same place.
How Video Fix works
DT-video-fix checks the videos in the media library and shows which ones do not play in every browser. Many videos from phones, cameras and stock sites are 10-bit H.264 or HEVC, which Chrome often plays but Firefox and many phones show as “Media error”. With Pro, such videos are turned into standard H.264 MP4 in the same place, so the pages that use them keep working.
Check on upload
Every new video is checked as soon as it is uploaded. The media library gets a Playback column, and the details of each video show whether it plays in every browser or what is wrong, for example “HEVC. Does not play in Firefox and on many computers.”
Overview of every video
DT-addons → DT-video-fix lists the videos on the website with format, size and status. At the top you see how many need fixing, and videos whose file is missing on the server are shown too.
More video formats in the media library
You can upload MKV, M4V, MTS/M2TS, HEVC and 3GP, which WordPress does not accept on its own.
Fix and Fix all Pro
The Fix button turns a video into H.264 MP4 in the same place: it keeps its ID and, for MP4 files, its address. Fix all works through every video with a problem, one after the other. Sound is kept.
Conversion on the server or in the browser Pro
If the server has ffmpeg, the video is converted there in a few seconds, whatever browser you use. Otherwise it is converted in your browser – with WebCodecs if the browser can read the video, or with the built-in ffmpeg.wasm engine, which works in every modern browser including Firefox and Safari. Everything ships with the plugin; nothing is loaded from other servers.
One click in the Customizer Pro
With the Responsit theme or a theme with a header video, a box under the video field in the Customizer shows the video's status. With Pro, Convert automatically makes a web-ready copy, creates a still image and puts the copy in the field. The original stays in the media library.
Largest width, quality and the original Pro
Choose the largest width (1280, 1920 or 2560 px, or the original width) and the quality (Smaller files, Balanced or Highest quality). With Keep the original, the original file is kept next to the new one with -original in the name.
What it looks like
Everything without a Pro label works for free. What is marked Pro is included in the Pro version.
Every video is checked when it is uploaded – the media library shows whether it plays everywhere, and with Pro, Fix leads straight to the solution.Conversion wherever it works – with Pro on the server with ffmpeg in seconds, otherwise in the browser, Firefox and Safari included. The header video in the Customizer – with Pro, Convert automatically makes a web-ready copy with a still image and puts it in the field.Choose width and quality – with Pro the videos get the right size, and the original can be kept next to them with -original in the name.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my video show “Media error” in Firefox?
Firefox cannot play 10-bit H.264 or HEVC. DT-video-fix shows which videos are affected, and with Pro, Fix turns them into standard H.264 MP4.
Is the original file deleted?
Not while Keep the original is on. It is kept next to the new file with -original in the name, and you can delete it later.
How long does it take?
A few seconds if the server has ffmpeg. In the browser, about as long as the video, or a few minutes per video with the built-in engine.
Is there a size limit?
The converted file is saved as a normal upload, so the website's upload limit applies. Very large videos are best converted on a server with ffmpeg.
The video still does not play after fixing – why?
Your browser may remember the old file. Reload with Ctrl+F5, or Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac.
What happens when a licence runs out?
Nothing stops working. A purchase never runs out, and when a subscription ends the plugins keep every function – only the updates from Datoden stop.
What is a major version?
The first number in the version. A purchase includes every update in that major version, for example all 1.x versions. A new major version (2.0) comes about once a year with clearly new features and comes at a discount as an upgrade. A subscription always includes it.
How are websites counted?
Websites connected to your Datoden account with a Pro plugin switched on, in the order they were connected. Disconnect a website in My websites to move the licence to another.
Do I need a licence key?
No. The website is connected to your Datoden account with Website Guard, and Datoden knows which updates your licences include.
Can I go back to the free version?
Yes. Deactivate Pro – the free version keeps running with the same settings. Functions that only exist in Pro stop, but nothing is deleted.
Do I keep the free version?
Yes. Pro is an add-on: the free version stays installed and active as the base and is updated from WordPress.org as usual, and Pro adds the Pro features on top. On WordPress.org the free versions are called Datoden …, for example Datoden Video Fix.
Is VAT included?
Prices exclude VAT. VAT is calculated at checkout from your country. Companies in other EU countries can enter their VAT number.
