Redirects in one list

Redirects without the fuss
Redirects sends visitors and search engines the right way when an address changes – automatically when you change the address of a page. Pro finds broken links for you and handles patterns.
In WordPress the plugin is called Datoden Redirects – in the DT-addons menu it is listed as DT-redirect.
DT-redirect sends visitors and search engines from an old address to a new one, or tells them a page has been removed. You add redirects to a list under DT-addons → DT-redirect, and changes are saved as you go. All active redirects are kept in their own index, so a normal page view does not have to query the database.
Click New redirect and fill in From and To. Pick a type: 301 Moved, 302 or 307 Temporary, 308 Moved or 410 Removed. Each row has an On / off switch, and the list can be searched.
When a published page or post gets a new address, a 301 from the old one is created by itself – also for child pages under a page that was renamed. Older redirects that pointed at the old address are updated to point straight at the new one, so you get no chains or loops.
Under Settings you decide whether /Old-Page/ and /old-page/ count as the same address and whether the last slash matters. For the query string (?…) you choose Pass it on, Ignore it or Must match. With Pass it on, campaign tracking such as utm_source follows along to the new address.
If the Redirection plugin has redirects, a Move from Redirection box appears. One click copies them over with their visit counts, even if Redirection is turned off. You can then deactivate Redirection under Plugins.
Addresses visitors tried that do not exist are listed under Missing pages, most visited first and with the page they came from. The Redirect button adds the address as a new redirect so you only need to fill in where it should go. Robots probing for weaknesses are left out.
Tick Regular expression on a row to make it match a whole pattern of addresses. Parts of the old address can be carried over to the new one with $1, $2 and so on.
Each redirect shows how many times it has been used and when it was last used. In the Try an address field you type something like /old-page/ and see which redirect matches and where it leads, before anything changes on the live site.
Under Import and export you can download every redirect as a CSV file, or upload a CSV file with one redirect per row: from, to and type. A header row is fine.
Everything without a Pro label works for free. What is marked Pro is included in the Pro version.
After installing – how to set up Redirects.
Go to DT-addons → DT-redirect in the WordPress menu.
If you have used Redirection, click Import from Redirection and then deactivate the old plugin.
Make sure When a page changes address is on, and choose how capital letters, the last slash and the query string should be handled.
Click New redirect, enter the old address in From and the new one in To, and choose 301 if the page has moved for good.
Pro builds on the free version – it stays as the base, with all your settings, and Pro adds the rest.
Everything in the free version, plus:
Choose how many websites and how you want to buy. Prices exclude VAT – VAT is calculated at checkout.
The licence follows your Datoden account – no key to paste.
The purchase is saved on your Datoden account as soon as the payment has gone through.

Drop the zip file on Website Guard. Pro is added on top of the free version – everything you have done stays.

A 301 tells search engines the page has moved for good. Use 302 or 307 when the move is only temporary.
Yes. A path such as /old-page/ applies to every domain. A full address including the domain only applies to that domain.
The visitor sees your theme's page-not-found template, but with status 410. That tells search engines the page was removed on purpose.
No. Only normal page views are redirected, never forms being posted. The admin area and the login page are not affected either.
Yes. Addresses with /en/ are matched as they were written, and DT-cache is emptied whenever redirects change.
Nothing stops working. A purchase never runs out, and when a subscription ends the plugins keep every function – only the updates from Datoden stop.
The first number in the version. A purchase includes every update in that major version, for example all 1.x versions. A new major version (2.0) comes about once a year with clearly new features and comes at a discount as an upgrade. A subscription always includes it.
Websites connected to your Datoden account with a Pro plugin switched on, in the order they were connected. Disconnect a website in My websites to move the licence to another.
No. The website is connected to your Datoden account with Website Guard, and Datoden knows which updates your licences include.
Yes. Deactivate Pro – the free version keeps running with the same settings. Functions that only exist in Pro stop, but nothing is deleted.
Yes. Pro is an add-on: the free version stays installed and active as the base and is updated from WordPress.org as usual, and Pro adds the Pro features on top. On WordPress.org the free versions are called Datoden …, for example Datoden Redirects.
Prices exclude VAT. VAT is calculated at checkout from your country. Companies in other EU countries can enter their VAT number.
